Certifications & standards

Certifications, standards applied and training

The qualifications the inspection work rests on, with certificate number, period of validity and the body that issued them. Below, the standards applied in the field and the renewals that keep them current.

Sec. 11.1

The four certifications

Who issued them, under which number and until when.

Coating inspector certifications are not acquired once and for all: they carry an expiry date and are renewed by evidencing work carried out and training credits over the reference period.

Cert / 01 Valid

FROSIO

Certified Surface Treatment Inspector — Level III

Issuing body
FROSIO, Norway
Standard
NS 476 — Level 3
Certificate
n° 3549

Valid until
2027

Level III is the highest grade in the Norwegian NS 476 scheme. It authorises the holder to plan and direct surface treatment inspection work, not only to carry it out: defining the checks, assessing the results against the acceptance criteria and taking responsibility for the final judgement of conformity.

Cert / 02 Valid

AMPP

Certified Coating Inspector — Level 2

Issuing body
AMPP, United States
Programme
Coating Inspector Program
Certificate
n° N-44128

Renewals
2019 · 2025
Membership
active

AMPP — Association for Materials Protection and Performance — was formed in 2021 from the merger of NACE International and SSPC. The Coating Inspector Program is the most widely used certification scheme in Oil & Gas and Marine internationally.

Cert / 03 Valid

NACE

Coating Inspector — Level 2

Issuing body
NACE International
Certificate
n° 44128
Latest renewal
October 2025
Outcome
passed, with training credits
Programme
merged into AMPP

NACE and AMPP identify the same certification: since 2021 the NACE Coating Inspector Program is the AMPP Coating Inspector Program. The certificate number is the same — 44128 on the NACE badge, N-44128 with the prefix on the AMPP one. Both designations are given because both remain in use in specifications and in qualification requests.

Cert / 04 Registration active

Collegio

Collegio Ligure Periti ed Esperti (Ligurian Association of Surveyors and Experts)

Registration
n° 692
Scope
technical surveys

Registration with the Collegio covers survey work: it is the professional reference for technical surveys, for proceedings held with both parties in attendance and for the assessments required where a dispute has arisen between the parties.

The certificate numbers are published so that they can be verified with the bodies that issued them. Copies of the certificates are available on request.

The certifications are issued personally to Capt. Marco Galano, Technical Director of DO.G.MA. Service. The FROSIO, AMPP, NACE and Collegio Ligure Periti ed Esperti marks belong to their respective bodies and are reproduced for the sole purpose of identifying the certifications obtained; this does not imply any relationship of affiliation, sponsorship or accreditation.
