Field competence
A corrosion protection system cannot be judged by its appearance alone.
Surface preparation, environmental conditions, products, film thickness, application intervals, adhesion and compliance with the specification are what determine the quality and service life of the whole coating system.
DO.G.MA. Service supports clients, shipyards, contractors and industrial operators with independent inspection, control, verification and technical documentation throughout every stage of the work.
The work is carried out where the work is: in the shipyard, in the workshop and on plant, in Italy and abroad.
From the first check to final release.
Services
Inspection and survey work across the whole anticorrosion chain, from drafting the specification to final certification of the applied system.
Inspection & quality control
QA/QC activity during preparation, application and completion of protective coating systems. Verification of workmanship, of operating procedures and of compliance with the applicable technical specifications and standards.
Surveys & failure analysis
Technical assessment of defects, deterioration, corrosion and anomalies in coating systems applied to steel structures, plant, ships and yachts. Analysis of the possible causes, collection of technical evidence and issue of specialist reports.
Third party inspection
Third-party inspection and survey work for joint inspections, disputes, allocation of liability and assessment of whether the work was correctly executed. Data, measurements and technical documentation to support decisions based on verifiable evidence.
Dry dock & tank coating
Survey and technical supervision during dry-docking, refitting and the application of tank coating systems. Control of the work on the hull, underwater area, ballast tanks, potable water tanks, cargo tanks and other surfaces exposed to aggressive environments.
Testing, acceptance & certification
Testing and technical measurement to the applicable standards and specifications. Control of surface preparation, dry film thickness readings, pull-off testing, adhesion checks and final inspection.
Specifications & qualification
Drafting and review of coating specifications, operating procedures, QA/QC documentation and acceptance criteria. Qualification of procedures, operators, applicators and vendors for specific protective systems.

For each service: what it covers in detail and which documentation is produced.

Technical control
Inspection is not about a single parameter but about the whole sequence of conditions that determines how long the coating system will last. Every stage produces data, evidence and verifiable documentation.

Sectors
Marine, Yacht, Oil & Gas, Power and Industry: different specifications, different coating systems, different critical points — verified with the same method.

New building, refitting, dry docking, hull coating, tank coating, piping, structures and underwater surfaces.

Control of coating systems and surface preparation during construction, refitting and maintenance.

Coating inspection for piping, valves, skids, LNG modules, onshore and offshore structures.

Corrosion protection of steel structures, plant, industrial components and infrastructure.
For each sector: the surfaces and structures inspected, the coating systems covered and the governing specifications.
Technical director

Capt. Marco Galano is a Certified Surface Treatment Inspector and Technical Director of DO.G.MA. Service.
His career began at sea in the Marine sector and moved on to the inspection and quality control of protective coating systems, later extending to Oil & Gas, Power, piping, industrial plant, infrastructure and yachting.
Over the years he has worked on new building, refitting, dry dock, tank coating, pipe coating, thermal spray metallising, insulation, failure analysis, vendor qualification, testing and final release.
Assignments are handled by him personally. When several jobs overlap in the same period, the inspection is entrusted to an inspector holding equivalent certification.
Selected experience
Marco Galano has taken part in projects in the Marine, LNG, Oil & Gas, Power and Industrial sectors, working in Italy and abroad for clients, inspection companies, contractors, shipyards and coating manufacturers.
Coating and insulation on modules, piping, valves and components for liquefaction and treatment plants.
Experience gained on projects involving
Tank coating, hull coating, underwater area, antifouling systems, steel preparation and final release.
Experience gained on projects involving
Qualification of procedures, facilities and operators, pipe coating, thermal spray metallising, testing and document control.
Experience gained on projects involving
The full project register, with the role and context of each assignment.
The organisations and projects named identify professional contexts in which inspection, quality control or survey work was carried out, in some cases on behalf of third parties. Naming them does not imply a direct commercial relationship with DO.G.MA. Service.

Certifications & standards
Internationally recognised qualifications in protective treatments, kept current through periodic renewal.
Certified Surface Treatment Inspector — Level III
Certified Coating Inspector — Level 2
Coating Inspector — Level 2
Collegio Ligure Periti ed Esperti
AMPP and NACE identify the same certification: NACE International and SSPC merged in 2021 to form AMPP, and the certificate number stayed the same, with an N- prefix in the AMPP version. Both names are shown because both are still in use in the industry.
The certifications are issued personally to Capt. Marco Galano, Technical Director of DO.G.MA. Service. The FROSIO, AMPP, NACE and Collegio Ligure Periti ed Esperti marks belong to the respective bodies and are reproduced solely to identify the certifications held; this implies no affiliation, sponsorship or accreditation.
